The Court considered the way forward relating to the filing of further affidavits, and the readiness of the matter for hearing.

The case manager judge directed that the court hearing dates of 21 – 23 October 2026 a revacated.

Significantly, the parties agreed that Cause for Justice’s further affidavits are to be admitted as evidence forming part of the factual record of the case. (CFJ brought a court application on 1 July to file further affidavits in response to attacks levelled against us and our witnesses by the applicants in their replying papers (which were filed at the end of March).)

A new timeline has been agreed for the further conduct of the case:

• The applicants will have an opportunity to respond to CFJ’s further affidavits by mid-November,
• followed by exchanging of heads of argument (written legal submissions) by all parties and amici curiae (16 friend of the court parties) between January and May 2027,
• a new court date will be allocated soon, with the hearing expected to take place in June 2027.

Further updates will be provided as the case develops.
